The New Moon in Libra inspires us to achieve harmony and balance by considering our relationships with others and the world.
Coming after the Fall Equinox (when the Sun first moves into Libra), the Libra New Moon releases the potent balancing energy released when the Sun hovered right over the Equator for a few hours. As I often mentioned this year, 2007 is the year of the "advanced unifying synthesis" when we move into the early stages of Oneness with all that is. In the short run, "feeling Oneness" is causing many of us to feel that our lives are more crowded, chaotic, and busy than ever before. This is the cosmic joke! We are being flooded with connections to more and more people and situations that were always there, but we were too shut down to pursue. Therefore, Libran balance in your personal realm has never been more important!
In my 2007 Fall Equinox reading, I commented that Mars in Gemini opposite Pluto in Sagittarius on the Galactic Center would enable many of us to actually experience co-creation with the divine and palpable contact with the unseen dimensions.
Now, this New Moon will release many more new facets of ways to be with Earth, so I will use this reading to explore our rapidly unfolding multidimensional quest. You may have heard that some people are very fearful about the upcoming Night Five, which opens on November 19, 2007? Well, as we are completing Day Five and the final aspects of the advanced unifying synthesis, Gerry and I can see that Night Five will be about opening our heart chakras and integrating the monumental steps we've taken this year from a place of feeling, and not from our minds. Do not fear in your mind the things you can only understand at your heart.
Astrologically, there is no doubt that big things are going on because this lunation occurs close to some culminating major transit patterns, such as Jupiter square Uranus, Venus conjunct Saturn, and Pluto on the Galactic Center.
Major changes that have been brewing for at least a year (and much longer in the case of Pluto on the Galactic Center) are occurring during this lunation, which is very significant during the end of the Mayan Calendar.
Jupiter square Uranus breaks up useless old relationships, freeing us to be who we are and to create with clearer intentions.
Venus conjunct Saturn forces us to get real about what we really care about, since it offers each one of us much-needed discipline.
As we already know, Pluto on the Galactic Center is moving humanity rapidly into a totally new orientation in reality; we are discovering ourselves as citizens of the Galaxy, in addition to being citizens of cities, countries, planet, and solar system.
During the Libra New Moon, the Sun/Moon in 17 Libra is trine to Neptune in 19 Aquarius, quincunx to Uranus in 16 Pisces, and sextile to Jupiter in 16 Sagittarius. This many close aspects to the lunation mean your sense of self (Sun) and your feelings (Moon) are especially charged and subtle.
The New Moon trine to Neptune in Aquarius softens your perspective and makes you more altruistic; the quincunx from Uranus in Pisces pushes you to transform your spiritual life and to develop true compassion for all living things; and the sextile from Jupiter in Sagittarius steadies your ability to know that everything you do is incredibly important now.
You must stand by your beliefs and demand truth in a world that lies. It just sounds very hollow when George W. Bush says, "We do not torture," while he has a silly grin on his face that makes him look he had an accident in his pants. Well, I do not think the Bushites are going to have a very good month or a very good fall, as more and more people are becoming more courageous and sticking by their own beliefs.
Venus in 2 Virgo, Saturn in 5 Virgo, and the lunar South Node in 6 Virgo sure is a strong suit! The balancing inspired by the Fall Equinox and the New Moon in Libra is made manifest by this stellium. Venus/Saturn/South Node in early Virgo is about getting real, which has added force because Mars in Cancer sextiles the South Node.
This power packet in Virgo will release dramatically on October 13, 2007, when Venus is exactly conjunct Saturn for the last time and right on the South Node. The first two conjunctions of Venus and Saturn were in Leo (July 1 and August 13), when Leo caused many to go for what they really want in life instead of letting things just be the same old way.
Beyond personal changes, Venus conjunct Saturn in Leo also caused a collective ripple; the housing market weakened during the first conjunction, and then the sub-prime mortgage crisis shook up world markets during the second conjunction on August 13.
That is why I think the final Venus/Saturn conjunction on October 13 may further expose the deep liquidity crisis in America.
The Big Boys are trying to make it look like everything is fine in the markets, but things are not fine because: 1) housing markets are collapsing just when America is almost bankrupt (as can be seen by the falling dollar and sky-high deficits); and 2) the real scope of the liquidity crisis will be visible around October 13 when the last Venus/Saturn conjunction occurs in early Virgo.
Jupiter in Sagittarius exactly squares Uranus in Pisces (financial surprises) on October 9, which may have pulled the plug just after I post this reading on October 8.
Virgo demands we get real and be in the Now, so with Saturn conjunct Venus in Virgo right on the South Node, people are going to have to remember that houses are homes to be lived in-and not expendable poker chips.
Meanwhile, those who have been responsible about their finances and housing situations will be fine. There is no doubt the financial focus will be on America, since Mars is in 5 degrees Cancer right on the 1776 USA Jupiter/Venus in 3-to-5 degrees Cancer.
Just how much awareness will we have when these financial collapses occur? The key to this question is Mercury in 9 Scorpio square Chiron in 10 Aquarius during the New Moon.
Mercury in Scorpio reveals the shadows and encourages us to be honest and seek real meaning in our lives. Mercury will retrograde on October 11 right after this New Moon, and it will travel back to 23 Libra and station direct on November 1; this will strengthen the Scorpionic deepening as closely guarded secrets come out.
This lunar cycle is going to reveal much truth that many wish to hide, but deep healing will also be part of the experience, as Chiron goes direct October 19 in 10 Aquarius. Chiron in Aquarius (February 2005-February 2011) is a signature transit during the end of the Mayan Calendar, which asks us to remember our ideals and to think about humanity and our planet.
Chiron's direct station in October is going to cause a break from old ways of living. During Chiron's retrograde phase (June 2007 through October 19) many people deeply examined their own parts in creating the dire situation in the collective theatre, and some may stop acting like sheep.
Because Venus conjuncts Saturn on the Virgo South Node while Mercury in Scorpio squares Chiron in Aquarius, there may be a great shift in collective consciousness. You could say that this combination says, "The buck stops here."
I think people will find ways to stop supporting situations they loathe, such as America turning into a barbaric nation during 2007.
Unfortunately, financial discomfort is required in this case. Americans are used to thinking they always win, and now the time is coming to process loss.
I am speaking boldly because everywhere I turn in the Libra New Moon chart, I find the same story. As noted earlier, Jupiter in 16 Sagittarius exactly squares Uranus in 16 Pisces for the last time, and America is in the middle of a massive political/spiritual crisis.
This opened with the first square in 12 Sagittarius/Pisces on January 22, 2007, when the Democratic majority in Congress was challenging the neo-con agendas, and America and the world hoped the neo-cons would finally be curtailed.
Do you remember that time? Also, during early winter 2007, a major book and film, both entitled The Lost Tomb of Jesus, were released, and I think the book is one of the most important publications of all time.
The explosive seed it contains will implode empire and world religions by 2011.
The second Jupiter/Uranus square was May 10, just after Bush vetoed the Congressional bill that contained benchmarks for withdrawal from Iraq. Remember that? Right on May 10, Bush announced that the US must succeed in Iraq no matter what, and the US fell into a constitutional crisis, which will deepen during the Libra New Moon now that Bush has even vetoed medical assistance for needy children.
Also Jupiter is sextile the New Moon as well as Chiron/Neptune, which means Jupiter's Sagittarian quest for truth is very strong. Jupiter is now moving into the range of conjuncting with Pluto on the Galactic Center in early December 2007, a time when the galactic implications of Earth's spiritual awakening will emerge.
Pluto is exactly on the Galactic Center October 19 for the last time, which is the same day that Chiron in Aquarius moves direct. I expect this day to be a special one, when many more see the importance of our personal ideals during these amazing times.
When Chiron goes direct October 19, take time to meditate; major guides may come to you with important information.
We are in the middle of very trying times, but we have a lot of strong support on the other side for the great spiritual awakening we have experienced during the advanced unifying synthesis of Day Five.
Beings throughout the universe are watching Earth right now, and you can feel them out there when you tune in.
