Conspiracy theories abound about the future of the United States, but is it still a "conspiracy theory" when the government's own documents support it? WND readers, who this week made Jerome Corsi's "The Late Great USA" the No. 1 pick among best-sellers at Shop.WND.com, perhaps don't think so.
At a recent meeting in Canada of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, he responded to a Fox News reporter who asked if he would categorically deny there is a plan to create a North American Union or NAFTA Superhighways.
Bush didn't answer directly, instead noting, "There are some who would like to frighten our fellow citizens into believing that relations between us are harmful for our respective peoples. I just believe they're wrong. I believe it's in our interest to trade; I believe it's in our interest to dialogue; I believe it's in our interest to work out common problems for the good of our people.
"And I'm amused by some of the speculation, some of the old – you can call them political scare tactics. If you've been in politics as long as I have, you get used to that kind of technique where you lay out a conspiracy and then force people to try to prove it doesn't exist. That's just the way some people operate."
Corsi's book uses documents from the federal government itself to describe how the benignly named "Security and Prosperity Partnership" from 2005 is the kind of regional integration plan used to form the European Union.
Corsi explains that the elites in Europe knew "it would be necessary to conceal from the peoples of Europe just what was being done in their name until the process was so far advanced that it had become irreversible."
He obtained dozens of documents through the Freedom of Information Act, and he describes a chilling view of a "harmonized" future for America, without voter input or congressional oversight.
"'The Late Great U.S.A.' is a real winner that sounds a clarion call to this nation," said Hal Lindsey, best-selling author of "The Late Great Planet Earth." "This book uncovers the careful deceptions of a powerful elite who want to undermine our sovereignty before we realize it. I consider this a must read for every American."
Phyllis Schlafly, president of the Eagle Forum, added: "Dr. Corsi has 'connected the dots' between the Security and Prosperity Partnership, the sale of toll roads and other infrastructure to foreign companies, and proposals for a North American Union with open borders between Mexico, the U.S., and Canada. 'The Late Great U.S.A.' is an essential read for anyone concerned about the future independence and sovereignty of the United States."
Bush's comments at the Canadian conference echoed the remarks published just a day earlier in the Ottawa Citizen by David Wilkins, the U.S. ambassador to Canada.
"While conspiracy theories abound, you can take it to the bank that no one involved in these discussions is interested in, or has ever proposed, a 'North American Union,' a 'North American super highway,' or a 'North American currency,'" he wrote.
However, in just recent days, Canada confirmed plans for a NAFTA superhighway, and trucks belonging to 100 Mexican companies are being given a free pass on U.S. roads.
In court papers, the federal government argued the program to let Mexican truckers on U.S. roads is an important "interim step" in the U.S. obligations under NAFTA.
In second place on the best-seller list is WND's original "Honor Roll Student Magnetic Bumper Sticker."
It's for parents who may feel left out when they see bumper stickers proclaiming, "My child is an honor roll student at Oyster Bay elementary school." It proclaims their child as an honor student at home!
It is an offer for those parents who are ready to make a public statement about how much they love home-schooling their own children.

In third place is "The Money Masters: How Banks Create the World's Money," an extraordinary two-DVD video documentary that reveals the secrets of the Federal Reserve.
The three-and-a-half-hour historical presentation shows how there have been many with suspicions that the system that controls America's money also controls the nation far more than most people realize.
Thomas Jefferson had expressed concern that the influence of those who control a nation's monetary system was greater than those who control the weapons.
"I sincerely believe ... that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies,- and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity under the name of funding is but swindling futurity on a large scale," he said.
"Whoever controls the volume of money in any country is absolute master of all industry and commerce," said President James A. Garfield.
The special feature covers monetary reform from Roman times to the present.
Robert Caroll, of Humane World Community, Inc., called it "the best video yet on the history of the Federal Reserve and the mysterious disappearance of America's gold reserves."
